Our Goals at Yukiguni Maitake

Yukiguni Maitake is committed to its business activities under the management philosophy of contributing to the enrichment of citizens’ lives and the prosperity of food culture by providing healthy, high-quality products including maitake mushrooms.

It was in the late 1980s that we succeeded in the artificial cultivation of maitake mushrooms, then known as the “phantom mushroom”. This success was achieved by reproducing the natural environment deep within the mountains where wild maitake mushrooms grow. Ever since, we have not only made advances in the mass production of maitake mushrooms, development of distribution channels, and improvements in our quality control systems, but have applied our techniques and knowledge to the commercialization of eringi mushrooms and buna-shimeji mushrooms to strengthen the foundations of our business.

In 2019, we also added hon-shimeji mushrooms , hatake-shimeji mushrooms and button mushrooms to our product portfolio as we strive to establish our foundation as a comprehensive manufacturer of premium mushrooms.

Yukiguni Maitake will continue to provide high quality products that meet the health needs of consumers, pursuing the functionality of mushrooms , with food safety and reliability at our core.
